1103 - 8-key conical 'Nicholson's Improved' flute stamped Clementi (by Thomas Prowse Sr.) #1486

This is the standard pattern early period Nicholson flute, here with 8 keys (all 'saltspoon'), an average-sized embouchure and the usual small finger holes at this point in production. This one is is ebony (which was less frequently used than cocus) and is missing its crown assembly, foot ring,and half of the long F key.
