1810 - 1-key conical flute by Monzani & Co

Stamped [crown]/MONZANI/3 OLD BOND STREET/LONDON/[?], this was the simplest model of flute Monzani offered, and one of the earliest. It is also stamped PATENT KE[Y] on the single piece combined r/h and foot joint, indicating that it was made in or after 1807. The simple varnished cocus and ivory flute has a small embouchure (9.0 x 8.5) and plays in tune throughout its range with a compact, focused sound.
